PAINT DECORATED 19th CENTURY AMERICAN ROCKING HORSE and CHAIR

American late 19th century, pine rocking horse with a bench seat. It retains its original old green and white paint. Note the patina/wear on the base from the child's shoes. "Sometimes called 'rocking chairs' this type of rocking horse would have been for a tiny tots probably under 2 years of age." This horse is very similar to one pictured in the Treasury of American Design p.618 figure 2196 Volume 2 (see photos).

Approximate Dimensions: Length 41"
