DOUBLE WICK GREASE LAMP

This North American iron lamp burned grease for lighting in the early 1800's using a piece of twisted cotton as a wick

It has a deep saucer base, to catch any grease, and integrally cast handle and feet.

Under the base the gate mark from being broken from the mold can be seen .

Height 6 1/4", top opening is 5" wide, the base diameter is 5 1/4" on the top.

The condition is very good. There is some minor chipping of the finish (as seen in the photos) and one leg is slightly shorter than the other 2. There is no damage and no evidence of repairs.
